The Junior Indoor Bouldering Championships is a unique event which rewards young competitive climbers for their dedication, their passion and their talents as the future stars of competitive climbing. The event combines the elements of prestigious national and pro level events--media coverage (including online video and print) high-quality route-setting, a premier format, other special events, and prizes including cash, gear and Scholarships. Since 2005, JIBS has offered climbing scholarships to junior competitors who climb at the top of their field, as well as to those who demonstrate a passion and commitment to this sport.

Preliminary Round
The format for Preliminaries will be Redpoint. Competitors will be scored on their best 5 problems. The Top 10 climbers from 12-14 and 15+ age groups, and Top 6 from the 11- age group, will advance to Finals.

Finals
Finals will be a modified World Cup format. Climbers will climb 4 problems with 4 minutes of climbing time and 4 minutes of rest in between. Climbers will be scored based on the highest point reached on each problem, using falls to break ties. In the case of a tie on all problems in finals, the competitors ranking in the preliminary round will be used to break the tie.
